Green Peach Aphids
Symptoms
- Nymphs and adults suck the sap from leaves, petioles and fruits
- Leaf curling and falling
- Premature fruit drop
Identification
- Adult: Dark brown to chocolate brown colour
Management
- Remove and destroy damaged plant parts
- Use a strong jet of water to dislodge aphids from the plants. This method can reduce aphid populations, especially in smaller-scale operations.
- Field release of parasitoid Aphelinus mali and predators,Coccinella septumpunctata
- Proper Fertilization: Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization, which can promote lush, soft growth that is more attractive to aphids.
- Spray any following insecticides
